Career Talk cum Informative Sessions – “Development and Social Sector Jobs”.

Series of informative and interactive sessions were organized for the students of various departments and hostels for Career Opportunities in Development and Social Sector from 18th to 20th September, 2019.

The sessions were conducted by Sh. Saurabh Chauhan and Sh. Piyush Shukla from the Azim Premji Foundation. The speakers outlined the social sector which holds exciting and promising opportunities for a meaningful, satisfying and financially sustainable career in prominent fields of Education, Health, and Environment etc. The Foundation too is working towards making deep, large scale and institutionalized impact on the quality and equity of education in India and offers exciting opportunities. The participants were made aware about the Vision of the Foundation, its collaborations with various Government institutions, the job roles and responsibilities, selection processes, challenges in the sector, salary and growth opportunities.

Workshops on “Know Your Rights” – An initiative by ITC Vivel & Josh Talks

As part of its brand philosophy and as CSR initiative, ITC Vivel along with team Josh Talks conducted series of workshops on “Know your Rights” in various departments of the University of Allahabad between 2nd to 6th September, 2019.

The sessions were conducted by Ms. Anmol Kohli and Ms. Richa Chaddha Campaign Manager/Trainers from ITC Vivel and coordinated by Mr. Sanchit Luthra from Josh Talks, New Delhi.

With the objective to change the collective consciousness of the youth through an increased perceptiveness on gender-sensitive issues; enabling gender-responsive actions at a personal level and building confidence through the knowledge of Rights. The trainers discussed different Constitutional Rights of an individual, some landmark judicial decisions, recent amendments, cyber safety, cyber stalking, bullying, sexual harassment, POCSO, Domestic Violence, Divorce, Alimony and Inheritance rights for men and women etc.

The workshops were successfully conducted under the guidance and collaboration from Prof. Ashim Kumar Mukherjee, HoD, Dept. of Commerce & Dean – Faculty of Commerce; Prof. D.K. The sessions marked a presence of more than 1000 students. C.P. Joshi, Dr. Mrityunjay Rao besides the faculty and staff members and student volunteers towards successfully organizing the sessions. Career Talk cum motivational session on joining “Indian Army as an Officer – through multiple entries and at different stages of student life” was organized on 6th March, 2019 at North Hall, University of Allahabad. Capt Tushar Yadav from 314 Medium Regiment, Prayagraj, addressed the aspirants. He briefed them about the life in Indian Army, which is not only providing a track to students to march for their passion but how is it beneficial to the whole family. Different ways to enter in the Indian Army at various levels of life (like after 12th, graduation and post-graduation) and the important points to be kept in mind while going for the SSB, and different level of judgements and attributes analysed for selection purpose, were shared with the students. Capt Yadav shared some of his live experiences and examples which let him become a better officer and a person. Students were motivated to give their best shot everywhere and prepare and grab each and every opportunity to achieve their goals. At the start of the session, Lt. Dr. Munish Pandey welcomed Capt Tushar Yadav by presenting him a bouquet of flowers and at the end Mr. Shaswat, Placement Officer, sincerely thanked him and the participants for the wonderful session.

6 मार्च, 2019 को इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय के नॉर्थ हॉल में “भारतीय सेना में एक अधिकारी के रूप में - छात्र जीवन के विभिन्न चरणों में एवं कई तरीकों”से शामिल होने पर एक कैरियर टॉक कम प्रेरक सत्र आयोजित किया गया। 314 मीडियम रेजिमेंट, प्रयागराज के कैप्टन तुषार यादव, ने प्रतिभागियों को संबोधित किया। उन्होंने उन्हें भारतीय सेना में आकर्षक जीवन के बारे में जानकारी दी, जो न केवल छात्रों को अपने जुनून की तरफ आगे बढ़ने के लिए एक ट्रैक प्रदान कर रही है, बल्कि पूरे परिवार के लिए यह कैसे फायदेमंद है। साथ ही साथ उन्होंने जानकारी दिया कि कैसेजीवन के विभिन्न स्तरों (जैसे कि 12 वीं, स्नातक और स्नातकोत्तर) के बाद भारतीय सेना में प्रवेश के विभिन्न तरीके और एसएसबी के लिए जाते समय महत्वपूर्ण बिंदुओं को ध्यान में रखा जाना चाहिए, चयन के उद्देश्य के लिए विश्लेषण और विशेषताओं के विभिन्न स्तर को छात्रों के साथ साझा किया। कैप्टन यादव ने अपने कुछ जीवंत अनुभवों और उदाहरणों को साझा किया जो उन्हें एक बेहतर अधिकारी और व्यक्ति बनने में मददगार साबित हुए।उन्होंने बताया कि छात्रों को हर जगह अपना सर्वश्रेष्ठ देने और अपने लक्ष्यों को प्राप्त करने के लिए सामने उपस्थित प्रत्येक अवसर का उपयोग करने के लिये तैयार रहना चाहिए। सत्र की शुरुआत में, लेफ्टिनेंट डॉ। मुनीष पांडे ने कैप्टन तुषार यादव का स्वागत फूलों का गुलदस्ता भेंट करके किया और कार्यक्रम के समापन के समय प्लेसमेंट अधिकारी,इलहाबाद विश्विद्यालय श्री शास्वत ने शानदार सत्र के आयोजन के लिये सभी प्रतिभागियों एवं वक्ताओं को उनके योगदान के लिए धन्यवाद ज्ञापित किया।

A Workshop cum informative Session on “Emerging Trends in Logistics & Supply Chain – Analytical Perspective” was organized with a view to develop linkages with the Industry and enhance domain specific knowledge on 15th February, 2019 at the Model Career Centre, UoA. This special workshop was conducted by Leading Supply Chain Expert Mr. Mohit Gauba, CEO SCM Connect, New Delhi. Mr. Gauba came with 18 years of rich and diverse experience in handling challenging assignments in the field of Channel Management, Distribution Management, Segment Marketing, Product Marketing, Business Development and Employee Training. In his previous assignments he held key positions in organizations like Tech Pacific, ICI Paints (Dulux ), Schneider Electric, Philips Electronics, Legrand and Safexpress. Mr. Gauba hold a Bachelor degree (B.E.- Chemical) from Department of Chemical Engineering & Technology, Punjab University, Chandigarh and M.B.A. ( Marketing & IT) from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM) Pune; during his stint in various Corporate companies Mr. Gauba earned prestigious SCM Certifications from MIT USA and Babson College UK..

The interactive workshop started with a discussion on the difference between the SCM and Logistics and covered the complexities in general and India-specific. A detailed discussion was presented for formulating strategies towards improving the efficiencies and reduction of various SCM related costs. Supply Chain Strategies w.r.t. Descriptive, Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics were taken up with relevant case studies from Chemical and Consumer Durables domain. The expert narrated that - how solutions can be derived using techniques like Linear Programming, TMS etc. and encouraged SCM enthusiasts to enhance their domain specific knowledge through various Certifications and get themselves skilled in highly rewarding SCM industry.

Supply Chain enthusiasts from Commerce, Management, Economics and Statistics background actively participated in the workshop and inquired to the expert on the role of IoT, SEZ’s and other factors influencing the SCM efficiency. At the end Dr. Rewa Singh, Placement Officer, GBPSSI presented the vote of thanks and the event marked sincere contribution from Mr. Sunil Singh, Young Professional, Dr. Sugriv Singh from Model Career Centre and Sri. A Campus Recruitment Drive was organized at the Model Career Centre, FCI Complex, UoA on 11thJanuary, 2019 for the position of “Executive Post Graduate Trainees” in Prism Johnson Limited (Formerly Prism Cement Limited).

Final year M.Sc. students of Chemistry and Environmental Science of UoA and its Constituent Colleges, who fulfilled the desired criteria, attended the Drive. The Drive started with Pre-Placement Talk followed by written test, group discussion and personal round of interview.

Shri. Arun Kr Bharti, Centre Manager, Model Career Centre, Shri. Sunil Kr Singh, Young Professional, Ministry of Labour & Employment and the Placement Officer, Shri. Shaswat welcomed the guests and participants. The interactive presentation from the Company was run by Human Resource Manager, Shri. Gyan Vaibhav Singh. The further screened participants were interviewed by Shri. Pramod Kumar, Vice President – Technical Excellence and Shri. Pravesh Kumar Sharma, Senior General Manager – Quality Control. At the end of the interviews, the HR Manager informed that after due consultation, the list of the successful candidates will be shared with the Placement Cell.

Campus Interviews for Gandhi Fellowship Program from the Piramal Foundation where conducted at the Model Carrier Centre, FCI Complex, UoA on 10th January, 2019. Seventeen shortlisted students were invited by the Foundation for GD followed by personal round of Interviews. Sh. Yogendra Choubey, Senior Program Leader, Sh. Ajay Singh, Program Manager, and Ms. Swati Patni, Program Leader from the Foundation interacted with and interviewed the participants.

A Campus Recruitment Drive was organized by the University Placement Cell in collaboration with Model Career Centre on 23rd November, 2018 for the selection of “Associates” in the very prestigious “Azim Premji Foundation”. The Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that is working towards making deep, large scale and institutionalized impact on the quality and equity of education in India, along with related development areas.

180 out of 278 registered students of P.G. Final year of UoA and its Constituent Colleges from the subjects of Hindi, English, History, Geography, Political Science, Physics, Chemistry and Maths besides B.Tech and M.Tech (those interested to work in the field of education) participated in the Drive which started with Pre-Placement Talk and concluded with subject specific written test. Successful candidates from the written test will be intimated via email regarding the interviews and field visits, in due course of time.

Successful candidates in the selection process will be offered an annual package of Rs. 3, 50,000/-and will be joining the Foundation in July, 2019.

University Placement Cell (UCP) in collaboration with Model Career Centre (MCC), organized a workshop on “Resume Preparation & Interview Tips” on Friday, 19th January, 2018. The workshop was organized for the students who will be facing the second round of APF interviews between 22nd to 24th January at Dehradun. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Shekhar Adhikari, Professor of Defense and Strategic Studies and Dean, CDC emphasized the importance of non-verbal communication during any interview and conveyed his best wishes.

Mr. Sunil Singh, Young Professional from MCC conducted the workshop and presented an in-depth analysis on the best practices pertaining to resume preparation and “How to face an Interview”. Ms. Sneha Dwivedi, successful candidate from first round of APF interview shared her experience and encouraged the participants.

The workshop concluded with Q&A session where the queries were answered by Mr. Chandrakant Singh, Mr. Rajeev Mishra and Mr. Shaswat. The participants registered their feedback on workshop evaluation form.

विश्वविद्यालय प्लेसमेन्ट सेल (यू.पी.सी.) एवं माडल कैरियर सेन्टर, तृतीय तल, एफ0सी0आई0 परिसर, इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय इलाहाबाद द्वारा दिनांकः 11-11-2017 को कैम्पस प्लेसमेंट का आयोजन किया गया जिसमें विश्वविद्यालय एवं उससे सम्बद्ध महाविद्यालयों के 2017 परास्नातक एवं परास्नातक तृतीय सेमेस्टर में अध्ययनरत (विषय- हिन्दी, अंग्रेजी, इतिहास, राजनीति शास्त्र, भूगोल, गणित, भौतिक विज्ञान, एवं रसायन विज्ञान) कुल 361 अभ्यर्थियों ने पंजीयन कराया था तथा इस कार्यक्रम मे 271 अभ्यर्थियों ने प्री-प्लेसमेन्ट टाक(पी.पी.टी.) एवं लिखित परीक्षा मे प्रतिभाग किया। यह कार्यक्रम देश की प्रतिष्ठित संस्था ’’अजीम प्रेमजी फाउडेशन’’ जो कि भारतवर्ष मे गुणात्मक एवं समतामूलक शिक्षा के प्रचार-प्रसार के क्षेत्र मे कार्य करने वाला गैर-लाभानवेशी संगठन है द्वारा ’’एसोसिएट’’ पद हेतु आयोजित किया गया। लिखित परीक्षा के परिणाम तथा साक्षात्कार तिथि हेतु अभ्यर्थियो को ईमेल के माध्यम से सूचित किया जायेगा प् साक्षात्कार के उपरान्त अन्तिम रूप से चयतिन अभ्यर्थियो को रू0 28000/- प्रतिमाह के पैकेज पर चयनित किया जायेगा। कार्यक्रम मे अजीम प्रेमजी फाउडेशन के प्रतिनिधि श्री पीयूष शुक्ला ने अभ्यर्थियों को संगठन के बारे मे जानकारी प्रदान की तथा उनका उत्साहवर्धन किया।
