The Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sangita Srivastava, Chairperson, University of Allahabad Alumni Association (UAAA), along with Prof. Heramb Chaturvedi, President of the Association, are ready to welcome you all to your very own alma mater, i.e., the University of Allahabad. Let us get together at a fiesta to take a pledge of eternal togetherness. This is the first time this great institution has taken the initiative to make sure to bring you to the familiar memory lanes of Allahabad University.
Established in the year 1887, the University of Allahabad stands tall as an academic institution with a glorious legacy of over 137 years. As the fourth-oldest university in India, it began with the aim of creating an institution of liberal learning with a cosmopolitan outlook. The institution, ever since the early course of its history, has been successful in acquiring the status of a prominent citadel of higher education and learning.
Keeping its commitment to value addition at both local and global levels, the university, inclusive of all its eminent departments and historic residential hostels, has provided a framework of unique character and culture pivotal in providing an atmosphere conducive to the development of the Allahabadi network of its alumni and current students. The institution can rightfully boast of having the most illustrious list of luminaries produced in comparison to any other institution in the country. The runaway success of the alumni of the institution in all walks of life has been phenomenal, be it in the fields of arts, sciences, judiciary, civil services, music, politics, governance, business, etc.The University of Allahabad Alumni Association provides a platform where we can meet regularly to discuss the progress of our institution, which has made us what we are today.
Our rich tradition of alumni has undoubtedly exemplified the belief that seekers of wisdom are the seekers of life, and they have thus, after completing their academic years on campus, gone on to contribute to different spheres of society. It holds true that an institution's alumni are a reflection of its past, a representation of its present, and a link to its future. It is the alumni of an institution who carry on the legacy of excellence that the institution represents. Therefore, with the noble aim and resolute intention of creating a lifelong and worldwide community of AU's alumni, we are setting out to organise the first ever alumni get-together in the annals of this association. It would be a two-day festivity of sharing memories, music, dance, food, exhibitions, demonstrations, workshops, and many more events that would be a treat to your eyes.
