About the University of Allahabad: Established in the year 1887, the University of Allahabad stands tall as an academic institution with a glorious legacy of over 137 years. As the fourth-oldest university in India, it began with the aim of creating an institution of liberal learning with a cosmopolitan outlook. The institution, ever since the early course of its history, has been successful in acquiring the status of a prominent citadel of higher education and learning.
Keeping its commitment to highest standards in propagation of education and research, the university with its eminent departments and historic residential hostels has provided a framework for its unique character and cultural capital in providing an atmosphere conducive to the development of the Allahabadi network of its alumni and current students.
The institution can rightfully claim to have the most illustrious list of luminaries across its rich history of almost a century and a half. The alumni of the institution has achieved stellar success in all walks of life be it the arts, sciences, judiciary, civil services, music, politics, governance, business or movies. The University of Allahabad Alumni Association provides a
platform where we meet regularly to not just share the progress of our institution, to contribute to building an institution for the future but also to relive the years that shaped us and our life.
With a steadfast commitment and the visionary goal of fostering a global alumni network we are ready to welcome you to the FAMILIAR FACES FIESTA '26. It will be a day of coming together once more at the University of Allahabad Senate House Campus. We have curated a special day filled with fond reminiscence, music, dance, food, workshops, and poetry as you renew the bonds and build new ones.
