February 27, 2020 was the fifth day of the seven days short term course on “MOOCs, e-content development and open educational resources” conducted under the aegis of the UGC_Human Resource Development Center, University of Allahabad. Two lectures were organized on the fifth day. The first lecture was delivered by Prof. Sumita Parmar, Department of English, University of Allahabad on the topic- “Experience of e-content development.” Prof. Parmar shared her experience of being a Principal Investigator (PI) for the e-PG-pathshala project of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. She shared her experiences regarding practical issues in operationalizing and implementing such huge projects. According to her, lack of teacher-training in e-content development is a bottleneck in the entire process and project of e-content development. In the second session of the course, Dr. Shailendra Mishra, Department of Anthropology, University of Allahabad delivered his lecture on the topic- “MOOCs- Discussion on its Development in India.” In his lecture, he outlined the various ways in which e-content is available online and the trajectory of their emergence in the backdrop of new technology related with computers and internet. He compared the development of e-content and e-learning in India with that of other nations especially the developed nations like the UK and the USA. This comparative frame helped in locating the emergence and development of e-learning and open education resources within the backdrop of larger developmental narratives of the countries both in the East and in the West.
